Instrument Currency Requirements
As you may already have noticed, staying current can be as difficult, if not more difficult, than actually earning your certificate.
Do you know if you are current to file IFR and fly in IMC conditions? More importantly, do you feel comfortable and confident that you will be able to handle changes in weather or aircraft state while in IMC?
Here is a quick refresher of items necessary to act as PIC under IFR or weather conditions less than the minimums prescribed for VFR:
Within the last 6 calendar months you must have perfomed the following in actual weather conditions or under simulated conditions using a view-limiting device:
- Six instrument approaches.
- Holding procedures and tasks.
- Intercepting and tracking courses through the use of navigational electronic systems.
Did you know that you can use a flight simulator to accomplish the same tasks to help maintain your currency? With Fly There’s full motion Redbird simulator, we are able to simulate real life weather challenges and instrument failures. What’s more, you are always #1 for takeoff and always #1 on approach, which can save you an incredible amount of time.
Whether flying in an aircraft or our full motion Redbird Simulator, we can help you maintain your currency all year long.
